Piggyback rides and swimming, jump roping and bike riding.....Kathleen knows how to fill her days.

There is just one thing missing.........Margaret!!

She has called me Margaret two or three times and last night for the first time I called HER Margaret!! My grandmother always use to say that that person must be thinking of her, when she would use the wrong name,...."oh, she must be thinking of me!".........That is what I told Kathleen and we laughed!

Tonia and I weeded the garden next to the pool on Wednesday, the 100 degree hot and humid day. We took 5 dips in the pool throughout the weeding time, and ended the day with ice cream! The garden has never looked better. The only problem I have left is I have an abundance of Iris plants. The root base on those suckers is unbelievable. I need some brauny teenager or husband to muscle them up and out of the garden. There are just too many and they spread each year.

I was very careful about using sun screen that day.....except I was thinking my back was covered up by my top...but it wasn't , I was wearing my bathing suit and now I have a unbelievable sunburn on my back. There is nothing more painful than a sunburn! So I have used a can of spray on Aloe, and I take a daily dose of Ibuprofen. It still hurts!!

I hate sunburn! My lilly white Irish skin can't take it!

The Margaret Update

I always knew that Margaret was going to have a good time at school this summer. All the tears that she shed and the anger she felt prior to going was truly her apprehension, her nerves, we were pushing her ( gently) out of her comfort zone! My feelings were the same, I would cry because she was crying, I knew she was going to like, I have lived there, I have been a part of it for other kids....I knew it would be fun!


As her first week of classes comes to an end, she has called each night around 9:00pm. She has been happy and telling us about her day........
...................she can find her tutors classroom all by herself now, unlike the first two days of school where she got lost a bit and had to ask for an escort to get there.... she says that study hall is really boring.......the food and the dining hall is good.........she is remembering to brush her teeth without me telling her too.......she really likes Mr Walden and Mr Healy......she picked to go play Laser Tag tomorrow over going to see a production of Singing in the Rain ( this is shocking to me ( well not really) ............but I totally would have picked the show! ) ..........she needed more hangers so I asked Lauri and she brought her some last night........She sleeps till 7:15 each morning and lights out is 9:30...........She says Mr Seaward knows everybodies name already and he is really fun............she saw Tomwashburn having his lunch in the dining hall as she past by the window outside, she waved to him and he waved back! ..........she said she has seen Whitney a lot......She mentions a girl named Jill, Asia, and Sophie........a boy who sits next to her in study hall knows her name and uses it and it annoys her.......he also took her water bottle and went to drink out of it....she yelled at him and he got in trouble by the teacher!!!.......I had given her my hugging pillow to hug in case she got lonely and she said she has not used it at all.....I am taking it back ( little stinker) .......on one of the hot afternoons they took all the kids to the movies..........

When she is on teh phone she has been distracted by the other girls on the dorm.....It sounds like a slumber party. The other night I asked her to give Tom a call on his cell phone after talking to me, she said " Can I call him later....the girls are all laughing and I am missing something funny!!!" ........yes you can call him later, Margaret!

Needless to say, she is having a great time.....

I am missing her, Kathleen and Patrick are missing her, Quinn admitted to a little missing, Taf ...well he will never admit to anything BUT he got in line to talk to her on the phone with her last night.....Tom is so proud of her, and he misses her too, of course!

Last night her team was playing there last game and I had to stop by and turn in her jersey......it made me miss her more and I cried a bit standing in my usual spot watching her game.

The great thing that she does not know about is that she is on the team roster for All Stars and although she is not available for the district games....He rawesome Coach Kristi is holding her spot.......if her team should win the districts she will be home from school in time to play in the State Tournament. Her team has won the districts the last two years and gone on to the states. I plan to go and watch the district games and route( root...sp???) for the team.

We are not telling her until we know for sure, so keep your fingers crossed that Auburn can beat Lewiston and Hall-Dale in the district tournament.

So that is the Margaret update....oh and her email address is still not working.....

By the way......everyone else is good.... Quinn has a basketball game, yes basketball game this morning.....

I love this picture , so I am posting it a second time , so when people check out the new blog they see it right away. My friend Michelle took this picture and a few more. She plans to come back and take some fall pictures because my kids listened well, and we have lots of good spots for picture taking in the backyard. She thinks Fall pictures will be great.

I hope to get my new camera soon, at least before we go to Acapulco for Juans wedding.

Margaret has called twice now and she is doing great. She has trouble finding her tutoring class but thinks tomorrow she will get there on her own. I know where she is talking about and she has quite a hike to get there.

Welcome to my new blog.

The Baseball season has kept us particularly busy. Four kids playing for four different teams, you may notice in my profile that I list quantum physics and time turners as an interest, being in two places at once or at least being able to rewind a great moment would help me out a lot as I try to keep up.

Margaret hit three triples this season and I missed all three. Once I was making my way to Patricks field from Quinn's and one time I was letting Quinn know that I would be watching Margaret at her field. One time I was not there at all, but the other two times I heard the people cheering and then found out the cheers were for Margaret. I did get to saw plenty of great plays and big hits throughout the season, so it has been lots of fun.

Margaret has gone off to Summer School in Connecticut for 5 weeks and will get some special tutoring and attention to her gift of Dyslexia. When she left Sunday morning she was wet. Between my tears and hers it was just a wet mess of Mommy and Margaret! Tom and Quinn drove her down to school and spent the day with her and they had a lot of fun!! Tom said leaving her there at the end of the day is the hardest thing he has ever done.
