Fogarty Center Field

The games have begun.

Game one....Auburn 14 Camden -Rockport 4
( margaret did not start but played third for a couple of innings.....having not been here for the practices it all was fair for all team members)

Game two.....Auburn 8 Calais 4
During batting practice and warm -ups before the game, Coach Kristi had a talk with Margaret. She explained that this team could hit and that they needed her to anchor the outfield. They had her play center. Shortly into the game it proved to be a wise decision. Margaret saw a lot of action out there. She caught an awesome fly ball and fired it back in to Corey at short. What could feel better than that?
By the end of the game Margaret had caught TWO flies to center field, stopped two line drives and had an RBI, and after 5 and a half innings she celebrated the second victory with her team......

Today's game is at 11:30
Stayed tuned

Here is Margaret with her two best friends at summer school. Hannah and Jill. ( L to R)

Hannah lives in Japan and Jill lives just down the road from school.

I am going to bring my little girl home on Friday and I can't wait!! I have only seen her for 9 hours in the last 5 weeks!

Last night she called and went on a rant about how mean the boys were during baseball today. They did not want her to play short or first which is where Mr Seaward had put her. They were trying to break her by saying, " C'mon Margaret let so and so play first...." There was one boy that called her a very bad name .......me, I would have probably cried and then quit, but then again, I would never have played in the first place! What did Margaret do??? She mouthed off right back and told him to shut up.....then as she was telling me all about it, she said " Ya know Mommy, I wish tackling was part of baseball because I would have taken him down!!".............Thats my girl!!

Big weekend last weekend with Brett, Nik and Joanne visiting. We had a great time playing wiffle ball, and other ball related games....we saw a little of Taf's baseball game, swam.....played Brett's Wii ...really fun. Ate good food, stayed up late to get the Harry Potter book at the midnight sale.
This weekend Grammy and Pops are coming up for Margaret's softball games. Brett will be back to take in a couple of games and I think some other friends will be joining us at the game to cheer on Auburn. Then Saturday night we will celebrate having Margaret home and enjoy our family.....woohoo!!

Lazy Hazy Days?

Where have the lazy hazy summer days gone? Ours are kind of action packed and they are flying by at warp speed!

Taf turned 15 on Sunday. 15......15!!!! Margaret will be home in 10 days! It all goes so fast!

Have you ever gone back to stir up a memory and got lost trying to find it? I guess thats a sure sign that you are getting old! On Sunday we went to our friends Summer house for a gathering and all the couples were talking about their younger years and what they had done in those early years of marraige.......I tried to remember when we were married and did NOT have kids and all I could say was " what did we do back then!!" I do remember being at Rectory that first year but it is hard to get back to when it was just me and Tom!!

Pops went and taught Margaret how to pitch for soft ball on Monday. She had a great time and yesterday she said that she did get her friend Jill to catch for her a bit....she does not know that her Daddy is going to be stopping by later today. He had a meeting in CT this morning and then he is visiting a friend of his ( that he went to Rectory with) for lunch, and then he is going to surprise Margaret and also make her practice pitching!!

She will be very happy to see him.

Quinn has more basketball games today....that summer camp program that he has done has been great. He really has had fun and has palyed A LOT! We will watch him later this morning set his picks and make great shots...woohoo Quinn!

Taf is going to be working for our next door neighbor on Friday and is excited to be doing work for Money!! He has done some work at school this summer, lots of real work stuff, like stripping floors and moving furniture...but that work ( he works about 90 hours per school year) helps pay his tuition...he sees no cash for that! Friday he will see some cash!!

Kathleen and PAtrick are driving me crazy! ( Not really) but they are typical little kids on summer vacation. They remind me of Quinn and Margaret when they were little, the key word here is LITTLE.....they are just little kids and they play really well together except when they are fighting, tattling, crying and fighting more!! Hahaha.....they do play well together and are enjoying summer....they eat lots of popsicles and swim everyday, they have ridden their bikes and jumped their jump ropes, they have been afraid of the thunder storms, they have caught frogs in the pond AND in the pool, they sit in the hammock and eat peaches one after another....they watch TV and have to clean up their rooms and their messes. They go to bed each night exhausted and get up the next day with a smile on their face.....

Life is Good!!

Here we go again!

Auburn 16 ......Lewiston 12

Auburn moves on to the State Tournament, and Margaret will be right back were she belongs by then and playing more softball!!

Kathleen, Patrick, Quinn and I went to the game last night.....it was a very shaky start. Lewiston was ahead 9 to 2.....then Auburn came fighting back....it was Awesome!

My favorite part of teh night aside from winning was when I arrived to the game, a Dad who I knew from last years All Stars said to me.." Hi, you are Margaret's Mom aren't you?" I of course said yes, and then he said " well come have a seat!" Then this other Mom, Carol, said " hey Trish its great to see you here, how is Margaret?" I said she was good and we all caught up a bit and then they all started saying how it will be great to have Margaret back if they make it to the States......

As the game progressed, Tom would call on the phone....at one point he was on the phone when the tieing run came in...... Then during the 5th inning we pulled ahead...12 to 11, 13, 14, 15, 16!!!!!!!! I commentated the whole thing play by play to him on the phone as he drove home from Portland.

Sixth inning... Lewiston is up to bat and I say we walked the first runner......( Tom say's Oh my god!!)
Second batter.....ball......ball......strike.....strike.... (C'mon C'mon)
She pops it up......runner on first takes off....the ball is caught by Korey, the runner does not realize and continues to second......they tag her out at first!! Double Play!!!!! The crowd goes wild!!!! ( Tom - Woohoo!!!!! C'mon girls)

There are now two outs, no runners on......( sshhh)
She pitches.........ball (oh no, c'mon c'mon)
Next pitch....a swing and a miss.....strike one!
Two outs
Next pitch......ball.....
(...........)
Next pitch.......strike..... (ok ok ...c'mon now)
Next pitch ..............STRIKE THREE.......GAME OVER THEY WON THEY WON!!!!!!
CAN YOU BELIEVE IT THEY WON!!!!!! Tom? Tom? Tom? Are you there?
( ............)

I dial his number again and he answers....." What happened?
They won Tom.....they Won!!

Margaret's team

Goooo Auburn!!

The Auburn Girls Softball team won their game last night ( 7-3) against Lewiston. Quinn, Patrick, Kathleen and I went over to cheer the girls on. Kathleen was so cute because when she got there, she was looking around and then she said to me , Is Margaret going to be here?!

I wish she had been, they needed her hitting and they needed her at short stop! It was all good, they won without her!! If they win tonight, they move on to the State tournament and Coach Kristi will be planning on calling Margaret at school tonight and telling her to get practicing for the States! Margaret will LOVE that, BUT they have to beat Lewiston.

After analyzing last nights game, I have determined they have a 50/50 chance!!! Seriously, this is not the same team as last year, a lot of the girls are a year older than Margaret and moved on this year to the next age group, Margaret and Korey are the only returning players . They have great coaches though and I think Kristi and Craig will get the best out of each of the girls.

I went and saw Taf play in Portland Saturday and he did not do so well.....last night he had another game and he turned a double play and made a couple of outs a second. This is kind of like the triples that Quinn and Margaret hit when I was not looking......maybe I should just stay home!

We had a big thunder storm Monday, I went and laid on my bed and watched it pour rain.....then there was HUGE thunder that shook the house and Kathleen, Patrick and Quinn all came looking for me! Kathleen and Patrick were scared and I think Quinn was surprise! He was not sure the big noise was thunder and just needed to check and make sure!!

The Big Man

For some reason Patrick is being exceptionally funny these days. Kind of a behind the scenes funny. For example on Wednesday the kids and I were all playing a wiffle ball game with Brett and Patrick started to go inside and he said..." I am off to talk to the big man for a minute"....Brett and I were the ones to hear him .......Patrick was heading inside to talk to the big man.....Tom! Brett laughed and off Patrick went.

I am not sure if it his look, buzz cut, big teeth coming in...or what but just to look at him makes me smile. He always looks kind of like he is up to something!
He was playing some basketball and called Taf....Tim Alfred Frog, Which I know Pops will find funny. Taf came in and told me and then he declares his brother is brilliant.

He tries to act tough, which is funny come the end if the day when he walks around with his "blankie"!!! You just gotta love Patrick!

We are off to visit my dollin' daughter today....I will let you know how it goes and of course I will take some pictiures!

Independence

Happy 3rd of July, just in case I do not get back to wish everyone a happy 4th, I will do that now! Happy Independence Day. I am a big fan of independence, its a good thing.

Lilly belle is feeling ill since yesterday and today we are heading to the vet. I think it has something to do with the fact that she thinks she is a garbage disposal...... Labs!

Grammy and Pops went and visited Margaret at school yesterday. When I talked to Margaret last night she sounded tired and had had a good day. She played baseball yesterday too, she was the only girl and apparently almost turned a double play while she was palying at second. She says she got the runner out at first but the ump said he was safe.

Everyone else is good, Quinn is playing basketball each day at the high school and has games on Fridays. Taf is playing baseball still and I am looking forward to getting to his game on Saturday.
I am not sure when I will visit Margaret, I am ready now...... I think Kathleen and Patrick are too! Patrick just asked me how many more days she will be at school.

We are celebrating the 4th of July with Brett and that should be fun.... past experiences have proved that he is kind of fun to have around!
