Seven on wheels

It is official, a huge milestone, all five of my children can ride a two wheel bike!! Kathleen made the official transition from training wheels to no training wheels on Thursday, it took her about three tries to get the hang of it and off she went, now there is no stopping her!

We have done some fun stuff theses last few days before school starts. We visited the SS John Brown in the Old Port this week....that was really cool....... We had fun exploring the ship.

There was a museum down below deck with photo's and memorabilia. Very interesting. I thought of my Dad while on board and wished he was there to explore the ship with us. By the sounds of what I just said, it makes it seem like he was lost in WWII, but he was just a kid then, he is in RI and doing just fine !! He had visited a few weeks earlier and we were in the Old Port but the ship was not in port then!

Uncle Ray came to visit us last weekend, we went to Maine Wildlife Park.....
We didn't take too many pictures.
We have done lots of Back to School shopping and I am sure my next blog entry will be of my kids on teh first day of school. Kathleen will be in kindergarten!! Patrick grade 2, Margaret 6th and Quinn 7th and Taf 10th......Oh my Goodness!

Just Buzzing

Things are going well here in Maine. I took 4 outta 5 to the beach today. It was beautiful except I kept getting bit by horseflies....I hate them.
Speaking of bites, how many times have you been stung by a bee while you were sleeping?? Me? No, I have never been stung by a bee while I was sleeping, once I drank one that was in a soda can, but spit him out before he could sting me and more importantly before I swallowed him.....Kathleen however, was stung the other night on her chin while she was asleep.....she came in my room crying saying she was stung and I did not beleive her, I asked her if she was dreaming and she said no.....then I asked her if she had pins and needles ....she said no.....then I went to tuck her back in her bed, where I found a bug on her bed....I told her to turn the light on and sure enough it was a yellow jacket and then she said her chin hurt and sure enough, again, she had a fat lip with a nice shiny bee sting!!!Poor baby....I tried to play it off liek it was ni big deal and that bees are never in your bed.....I was so worried that she would be nervous about going to bed the next night, but she was ok.

I receieved Margaret's grades from summer school, she did excellent and each of her teachers had written comments on her progress. She recieved two book awards, one in study skills and one in writing......She also recieved a medal for her outstanding sportsmanship in her afternoon activites and sports. There were only 15 medals given out to the 80-some summer school students!!! GO MARGARET!!!!

Me and my girls have a big night planned , we are watching High School Musical 2 tonight at 8pm.......woohoo!!!

Once the season has ended

What do you do when the baseball and softball seasons have come to an end? Lets see....Tom took all the kids camping for three days. They went up to Jackman and had a great time.
I stayed home with the doggies and changed sheets and swept floors and polished wood work.....it was all good.

On Sunday afternoon when they all returned from the days in the woods , I asked Quinn if he wanted to go down to Boston to see Michael Buble. He did, and we left two hours later. The concert was awesome, Michael always puts on such an entertaining show. Quinn loved it too.

If you are planning on placing an order with LL Bean this holiday season I may be taking your order. I took a seasonal position at the call center in Lewiston. I start training on Sept 17th and then will work thru December. Why? Why would I give away my first few weeks of all 5 kids in school all day everyday?? Why?? MONEY= trip tp Acapulco in Feb!

We have to go to Juan's wedding in Acapulco in February so it makes sense to earn some extra bucks.

Taf's toe is better, in case you were wondering.

Thats it for now.....

Hit One to your Mama

So the season has ended and the Auburn All Stars finished the 5 day tournament with a 3 and 2 record.

There first loss was against Cape Elizabeth and it was a fantastic game. The score at then end was tied and we had to play an extra inning. Cape squeeked out a run and won the game.

The next loss was awful......our team made some bad plays....but it was also fueled by some bad calls. Balls bouncing off of home plate, that were called "balls"...... runners who were safe called out.....
It left a real sour taste in your mouth at the end of that game....stupid softball!

And finally yesterdays game was another win and another great game. I spent a lot of time standing out behind center field and saying " Hit one to your Mama"
Margaret had some great hits and got two out to her Mama...... at the games end was awarded teh honor or " Best Offensive Player" her friend Corey was "Best Defensive Player"
I think Margaret had 5 0r 6 RBI's and then the runs she came in on too....The girls were hitting them!
